Discover how your personality traits and life experiences are related to your behavior on Facebook. Researchers from Saint Petersburg State University are providing the study on social networks, and you might be the one to help science!

We hope that our research will lead to the reduction of possible negative experience related to social networks.

This study will take only 10-15 minutes. We will ask you about some of your life events and some of your beliefs and opinions about behavior and communication. We appreciate your time and will provide you with feedback about your personality characteristics upon completion of the survey.

We guarantee full confidentiality of your personal data. We will store and process only de-identified data. This study has been approved by the Ethics committee of Saint Petersburg State University. Full informed consent and user agreement can be found here.

Informed Consent
for Participation in the Research

The research group of the Department of Psychology of Saint Petersburg State University invites you to take part in a psychological study. The goal of this study is to assess personality characteristics and emotional wellbeing of Facebook users.
Facebook users over the age of 18 can take part in this study.
Inclusion criteria: you have to be over 18 to participate.

Voluntary participation

1.Your participation is fully voluntary.
2. You can choose not to participate in this study now or refuse to continue at any point without any negative consequences.

Privacy policy

Your first name, last name or nickname won’t be linked to your results. The data collected in this study will be available only to the members of our research group.

Study procedure

You will be asked to answer some questions regarding stressful events you might have experienced during your lifetime, your overall wellbeing and some of your beliefs and opinions about behavior and communication. It will take you 10-15 minutes to answer. After you finish the survey you will receive brief feedback on your results. By agreeing to participate in this study, you give consent to download and store in the study database your public posts without identifiable data for further data analysis related to the study. We inform you that private posts and messages are not collected by the program.

Possible inconvenience

Some of the questions may concern intimate and/or emotionally difficult topics. Remember, you can refuse to participate at any point.

Benefits

Participation in this study will not benefit you directly, however, knowledge gained as part of this study will provide new information about social media and its users wellbeing.
This study was reviewed and approved by the Ethics Committee of Saint Petersburg State University.
